What is a maremma sheepdog?
This is a very old European sheepdog breed, probably descended from the great white oriental sheepdog that gradually spread throughout Europe 1,000 years ago. Turkey’s Karebaisi and Akabaisi Shepherds, Slovakian Kuvacs, Hungarian Kuvacs and Colemans, and French Pyrenees are all part of this migration chain.
