Leap Venture Academy, in collaboration with Royal Canin, is hosting a weeklong fellowship program for 13 early-stage pet care startups from six countries in Montpellier, France. The event, which reflects Leap’s commitment to diversity, equity, and innovation in the pet care industry, will take place from 6-10 November 2023. The selected startups will have access to essential resources, expansive networks, and invaluable mentorship opportunities from industry experts.
The 13 selected startups include BistroCat, ControlPoint, Edgar, Furevr byFOMMRE, Innovative Pet Lab, Interplay, JAMPY, SN Biomedical, Spot Vet, The Coda Grouop Inc., Veterinary Well-Being Buddy, Vidapaw, and VNG Pets.
One company among the 13 will receive an award of $15,000 USD. This is a peer-voted award that will be voted upon by the fellow 13 companies and founders. For the other 12 startups, a reward of $5,000 USD will be given. These rewards are meant to symbolize the efforts of the startups while drawing attention to the strength of collaboration in the journey to support animals.
When speaking on the program, Rachel Sheppard, Director of Ventures at Mars Petcare and Co-Lead for Leap Venture Studio, expressed her excitement and stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to extend a warm welcome to the remarkable 13 pet care companies joining our Academy program this year.”
