MONGOLIA – The draft law on domestic animals, which regulates relations related to public health protection, registration, guardianship, temporary care, breeding, protection from violence and reduction of the number of stray animals, was approved today at the session of the Parliament. Thus, Mongolia has a law on domestic animals. Therefore, citizens have the rights and responsibilities of pet guardians. For example:
Legal guardian must be 18 years old and have full legal capacity;
The legal guardian must have a source of income to provide food and shelter for the pet, to cover health care and services, and to have attended dog and cat guardian training;
Pet must have appropriate equipment such as a collar, muzzle, and bag when traveling in public;
The legal guardian must take care of the pet’s offspring;
