SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters in Snohomish County responded to and successfully contained a commercial fire that occurred on Saturday night.
The incident took place at a four-plex residence in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Quick action by Snohomish County firefighters and mutual aid from neighboring departments helped prevent further damage.
Upon the arrival of the first crews within five minutes, it was found that residents had already evacuated the building. A spokesperson reported that the fire originated in a bathroom but had been promptly extinguished by a sprinkler activation. The situation was effectively handled by the initial three responding units on the scene.
Mutual aid was provided by neighboring fire departments, including units from Everett, Snohomish Regional Fire Rescue, and South County Fire, enhancing the collaborative effort to contain the incident.
Officials emphasized the significance of working smoke detectors in ensuring the swift evacuation of the building, contributing to the overall safety of the residents. Despite the successful containment of the fire, one adult and their pet were unfortunately displaced due to water damage, highlighting the broader impact of such incidents on the community.
