Animal lovers are in for a treat as the City of Whittlesea announces its eagerly awaited second annual Pet Expo, set to take place during the vibrant Community Festival on Sunday, 17 March. This year’s Pet Expo promises an array of stalls and performances catering to all pet-related needs and curiosities.
Lydia Wilson, Chair Administrator for the City of Whittlesea, emphasized the essential role pets play in residents’ lives, contributing to improved wellbeing and earning their place as cherished family members. Reflecting on the positive feedback received after last year’s inaugural Pet Expo, Lydia expressed confidence that this feature of the Community Festival would be a hit among pet lovers.
The Pet Expo, enclosed within a spacious 50-meter fenced area of the Community Festival, will serve as a lively hub for pet-centric activities and information, including:
1. Dog Obedience and Training Demonstrations
2. Booths supporting pet adoption and facilitating connections with local rescue groups
3. The Pony Pals Playland, offering kids the joy of grooming and patting miniature ponies
4. A diverse range of stallholders offering pet products and services for furry, feathered, or scaled friends
The City of Whittlesea’s Animal Management team will be on-site, ready to address inquiries regarding pet registration, microchipping, and checks. They will also provide insights into cat management strategies and showcase innovative cat enclosure solutions.
Apart from the Pet Expo, the Community Festival promises a variety of activities, including live stage performances, free family activities, and the announcement of Community Awards recipients.
Lydia Wilson encourages everyone not to miss this opportunity to explore the world of pets and discover what’s available locally.
