Buena Vista, Colo. – The Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) is thrilled to announce the launch of its fifth annual Good Pet/Bad Portrait Fundraiser, a creative initiative that combines community engagement with fundraising efforts.
Dedicated AVHS volunteer artists and staff generously contribute their time and talents to craft unique portraits of community pets, with all proceeds going towards supporting AVHS’s mission.
AVHS Executive Director, Nikki Ritter, shared, “Our volunteer artists span various ages and skill levels. Participants may receive a comical doodle capturing the essence of their cherished pet for display on the fridge, or they may be fortunate to acquire a fine art piece – all while contributing to the welfare of homeless animals at AVHS.”
Pet owners interested in participating can submit photos of their beloved companions from Monday, February 26, through Sunday, March 10 (while supplies last) via the official submission portal. Each portrait submission is priced at $25. Once completed, the volunteer artist will either mail the finished portrait directly to the pet owner or arrange for convenient pickup at AVHS’s main location, situated at 701 Gregg Drive in Buena Vista.
This delightful fundraising initiative not only celebrates the bond between pets and their owners but also plays a crucial role in sustaining AVHS’s efforts to provide care and support for homeless animals. The Good Pet/Bad Portrait Fundraiser exemplifies how community involvement can make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.
