The animal rescue association Peluditos de Son Reus is gearing up to celebrate its remarkable milestone of ten years in operation. To commemorate this significant occasion, the association has announced plans for a special charity dinner, scheduled to take place at Es Moli des Compte in Establiments on Friday, July 5. Given the anticipated high demand, reservations for the event are strongly encouraged. Moreover, Peluditos de Son Reus is seeking the support of local performers who are willing to contribute their talents to this charitable endeavor.
In addition to the anniversary dinner, Peluditos de Son Reus is organizing a parade at FAN on June 1, running from 17:00 to 20:00. The event promises an array of attractions, including eight stands representing various organizations, all united in their mission to raise funds for rescued animals seeking loving, forever homes. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with animals currently under foster care and gain insights into the adoption process.
Lynda Commons Mitchell, President of Peluditos de Son Reus, shed light on the ongoing efforts of the organization, recounting the recent rescue of a 40-day-old puppy facing imminent danger. Mitchell emphasized the ceaseless nature of their work, underscoring the urgent need for support.
Beyond rescue operations, Mitchell and her dedicated team are committed to fostering awareness of animal welfare through educational initiatives. Their endeavors extend to delivering informative talks in schools and advocating against instances of pet cruelty. Notably, Mitchell’s cherished companion, Sauron, served as a beloved ambassador for the organization for many years. Sadly, Sauron has recently passed away, leaving a void that is deeply felt by all who knew him.
As Peluditos de Son Reus embarks on its tenth year of service, the organization continues to champion the cause of animal welfare with unwavering dedication and resolve.
