Minneapolis Animal Care and Control is launching a special adoption event this weekend, aiming to find loving homes for dozens of pets by waiving adoption fees.
Residents of Minneapolis will have the opportunity to adopt dogs aged seven months and older, as well as cats, without paying any adoption fee. However, a licensing fee ranging from $15 to $30 will still apply.
Non-residents of Minneapolis are also welcome to participate in the event, with adoption fees set at $25 for cats and $100 for dogs. Puppies younger than six months can be adopted for $250, irrespective of residency status.
The adoption event will take place at the shelter located at 212 17th Ave. N., with visiting hours scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday.
During these hours, volunteers and staff members will be on hand to assist prospective pet parents in finding their perfect match.
All cats and dogs available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ensuring they are ready to become cherished members of new families.
Among the pets awaiting adoption is Gruyere, affectionately known as Fancy Cheese Gary. Gruyere is a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been patiently awaiting his forever home since March 13. Described as sweet, playful, and cuddly, Gruyere is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to join a loving family.
