Rogers drew attention to a startling statistic, revealing that nearly 40 individuals have lost their lives to dog-related incidents in Michigan—an alarming figure that underscores the urgency of the issue. She highlighted that a significant portion of these attacks involve family pets, exacerbating not only the emotional trauma endured by victims but also the financial strain on medical and insurance systems.
