Cessnock City Council is facilitating two complimentary dog and puppy microchipping sessions aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership within the community.
Mayor Jay Suvaal of Cessnock City urges all dog and puppy owners who have not yet microchipped their pets to capitalize on this beneficial opportunity.
“Microchipping your pet is an essential aspect of responsible pet ownership, ensuring their safe return home if they ever become lost or separated,” stated Mayor Suvaal.
He emphasized the council’s commitment to proactive measures for enhancing the safety and welfare of pets in the community.
“With these free microchipping sessions, the council seeks to empower pet owners by offering a practical solution for pet identification.”
In consideration of the outdoor nature of the event, cats will not be allowed to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Additionally, attendees are requested to have their dogs on leads or in carriers throughout the event.
The sessions are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to foster responsible pet care practices and strengthen the bond between pets and their owners in Cessnock City.
