Greenhill Humane Society is calling upon the community to replenish its pet pantry, a crucial resource aiding pet owners experiencing financial strain.
The pet pantry initiative by Greenhill aims to provide essential pet supplies, such as food, to individuals facing economic challenges. As summer approaches, the demand for these resources intensifies, yet the current inventory falls short of meeting the community’s needs. In response, Greenhill is urging for contributions to sustain the program and enable pet owners to retain their beloved animals in their homes.
Sarah Bouzad, Greenhill’s community engagement and events manager, emphasized the persistent demand for assistance and the critical role of community support in bridging supply gaps across Lane County.
“The demand for pet food assistance is ongoing, and we rely on the generosity of our local community to ensure we can extend our reach effectively,” Bouzad stated. “By considering an extra bag of food for sheltered pets during their own shopping trips, community members can make a significant impact by dropping off donations at our shelter.”
Greenhill is specifically seeking donations of dog and cat food, along with bedding, treats, and toys. Those interested in contributing to the pet pantry program are encouraged to visit the shelter located at 88530 Green Hill Road to donate directly. Additionally, Greenhill has curated an Amazon wishlist featuring other essential items needed to support their efforts.
The initiative underscores Greenhill Humane Society’s commitment to supporting pet owners during challenging times and ensuring the welfare of pets throughout Lane County.
