High Country Bank has announced its annual pet food drives in Salida and Buena Vista, dedicated to aiding the animals cared for by the Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS).
Residents are encouraged to contribute pet food donations at specified drop-off points. In Salida, donations can be made at High Country Bank’s location at 7360 W. U.S. 50, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 21. Similarly, in Buena Vista, donations will be accepted at the bank’s branch located at 516 U.S. 24 N., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 28.
Representatives from AVHS will be present at both events to receive donations and provide informational pamphlets about the shelter, according to a press release.
The pet food drive welcomes all types of cat and dog food in unopened bags. Notably, for every pound of dog food contributed, High Country Bank pledges to donate $1, with a cap of $500 per event.
Expressing gratitude for the ongoing support, AVHS Executive Director Nikki Ritter remarked, “We are incredibly thankful for the continued support from High Country Bank. This annual pet food drive not only helps feed our shelter animals but also maintains our community pet food pantry. Our pet food pantry serves as a crucial safety net program; in 2023 alone, it provided food to 643 animals. We couldn’t assist these animals without the generosity of individuals and businesses like High Country Bank.”
This initiative underscores High Country Bank’s commitment to community welfare and animal welfare, fostering collaboration between local businesses and organizations to benefit pets in need.
