In anticipation of the upcoming July 4th holiday, the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is providing pet owners with a convenient opportunity to microchip their furry companions. Microchipping, a reliable method for identifying lost pets, ensures peace of mind for owners and the safe return of their beloved animals.
Scheduled for June 20, the microchipping clinic will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Participants are advised to arrive early, with check-in starting at 3:45 p.m. Access to the clinic will be from Bahnson Ave, near North 60th Street, with ample parking along Bahnson and additional parking available at the National Guard lot if needed.
Andrew Holzbaugh of Hegg Reality has generously sponsored the first 50 microchips, which will be provided free of charge. Subsequent microchips will be available for $20 each. Attendees can conveniently complete paperwork from their vehicles, with Traffic Control Volunteers on hand to assist.
Following the microchipping process, pet owners can explore welcome booths and visit Community and Rescue booths located in the front parking lot. Organizers aim to microchip at least 150 pets during the event, emphasizing the limited time available.
Please note that adoptions and tours of the Humane Society will not be available during the clinic hours.
