Notti Pet Food, a trailblazer in Southeast Asia’s pet food industry, has received a significant boost with a US$500,000 (RM2.4 million) seed investment from 500 Global and First Move. This marks a pivotal moment for the bootstrapped company, known for its slow-baked, super premium kibbles.
The funds will propel Notti’s strategic growth initiatives, including the introduction of new product lines and market expansion into the Philippines and Singapore. The company’s mission is to elevate pet health and nutrition standards across the region.
The recent Consumer Report Malaysia 2023 by Standard Insights reveals that 51.1% of Malaysians own pets, a number set to increase. This growing pet ownership underscores a rising demand for quality pet food, which Notti aims to meet with its premium offerings. Unlike many commercial brands that use meat meal and vague labeling, Notti’s kibbles are made from 100% human-grade meat, combined with fruits, vegetables, probiotics, and prebiotics. Their unique slow-baking process at 90°C preserves nutritional integrity, setting them apart from the high-temperature extrusion methods of major brands.
Notti’s products not only meet but exceed the international standards set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials, earning endorsements from veterinarians. They are suitable for pets of all ages, breeds, and sizes.
“Notti is more than just a brand; it embodies our belief that pets are cherished family members,” said Keyee Yap, founder of Notti Pet Food. “As a dedicated pet lover myself, my team and I are committed to ensuring pets receive nourishing meals and an experience that honors the special bond we share with them.”
Khailee Ng, managing partner at 500 Global, praised Notti’s comprehensive approach. “Notti is a pet-focused entity with multiple revenue streams and products. With experience in building similar ventures for humans, we’re excited to support their growth in the expanding pet sector.”
Audra Pakalnyte, partner at First Move, expressed enthusiasm for Notti’s future. “We seek out founders with grit, deep know-how, and passion, and Yap embodies all these qualities. Her commitment to solving real problems, innovating, and maintaining high standards in the pet industry is the driving force behind Notti. We’re excited to support their growth and impact.”
Beyond its commercial ambitions, Notti actively participates in Trap-Neuter-Return programs and donates kibbles to animal shelters, reflecting its commitment to animal welfare and community service.
Currently, Notti’s products are available in over 100 pet shops across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. The company aims to expand to 200 online and offline distributors by the end of 2024, signaling robust confidence in its growth trajectory and its mission to improve pet health globally.
