As temperatures soar under a Midwest summer heat dome, the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City is taking proactive measures to safeguard pets from the extreme heat.
The center’s dedicated outreach team is patrolling streets and neighborhoods, equipped with essential supplies to assist pet owners and their furry companions. These supplies include gates and kennels for safe indoor environments, water bowls, cooling mats, and other cooling accessories.
“Our goal is to ensure that every pet in Kansas City stays safe and comfortable during this heat wave,” said Rae Lindsey, Mobile and Outreach Manager at the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City. “Our outreach team will be actively patrolling neighborhoods, ready to provide assistance and supplies to pet owners who may be struggling to protect their pets from the extreme heat.”
In addition to providing supplies, the Pet Resource Center is educating the community on heat safety tips for pets, focusing on hydration, providing shade, and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
