SPCA Tampa Bay has recently introduced a comprehensive community impact initiative aimed at assisting pet owners facing financial hardships in caring for their animals. According to a recent news release, the initiative includes a range of resources such as pet food banks, vaccine clinics, and grooming services.
The Pebbles Pet Food Bank, located at SPCA Tampa Bay’s For-All shelter in Largo, operates every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm. Additionally, the Pasadena Community Church in St Petersburg provides pet and human food on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 9:30am to 11:30am, requiring registration for access. Residents of Pinellas County can also benefit from the Paul Balle Memorial Pet Food Bank at Hope Villages of America in Clearwater, open on the first two Tuesdays of each month from 12:30pm to 3:30pm, with registration at the human food pantry necessary for monthly access.
In further support of the community, SPCA Tampa Bay will host pet vaccine clinics, with the next session scheduled for Saturday, July 27th from 10am to 1pm at 9099 130th Ave N in Largo.
Emily Bernhart, Mission Programs Manager at SPCA Tampa Bay, emphasized the organization’s commitment: “We are dedicated to expanding access to pet food through our network of pantries across Pinellas County.”
This initiative underscores SPCA Tampa Bay’s ongoing efforts to provide essential resources and support to pet owners in need within the Tampa Bay area.
