The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is now accepting nominations for its prestigious Friend of Pet Food Award and applications for student research presentations at the upcoming AFIA Pet Food Conference (PFC). Scheduled for January 28, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, this conference will coincide with the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE).
Established in 2019, the Friend of Pet Food Award honors individuals who have made substantial contributions to advancing the pet food industry. Nominees should be actively engaged in the pet food sector or related fields, including new product development, transportation, regulatory affairs, academia, media, or promotion.
“The Friend of Pet Food Award is designed to recognize those who have significantly advanced our industry,” stated Louise Calderwood, AFIA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs. “We encourage nominations for individuals who have made enduring contributions to enhancing pet nutrition.”
Additionally, AFIA is inviting exceptional undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students to present their research at the PFC. Undergraduate students may apply for a poster session during the conference, while graduate and post-doctoral students can compete for opportunities to present their research during the full-day event.
“We are excited to provide this platform for students to showcase their research to a prominent audience in the pet food industry,” Calderwood added. “This is a valuable chance for students to gain visibility, share their innovative work, and connect with professionals committed to advancing the future of pet nutrition.”
